YOGA PHILOSOPHY Saturday 9/4 2p-4p Part 1 will cover the history & philosophy of Yoga in the Classical era (Upanisads & other Vedic scriptures, the Buddha & his innovations up to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali). Saturday 9/11 2p-4p Part 2 will cover an in-depth reading of Patanjali & the history & philosophy of Hatha yoga up to the present The movements and postures that fill 99% of most yoga classes are really just the beginning. The very best that yoga has to offer can be found in the ancient teachings of Yoga philosophy. The wisdom in these texts are still applicable in today's society and has the potential to guide us into living more peaceful, happy and rich lives. We will discuss these questions and more: •What is philosophy and what are the Indian philosophies? •Who is Patanjali and what are the Yoga sutras? •What is yoga and when did yoga become a philosophy and not just a practice? Open to everyone interested - no previous knowledge required. Lori Kirsch is a 200 Registered Yoga Teacher from Cincinnati Yoga School, owner and instructor at East Cincy Yoga & Wellness Center in Amelia, Ohio.
