Introduction to the wonderful world of sewing!
Students will learn the basic parts of their sewing machines including how to thread their machine, wind a bobbin, change and insert a needle and change a presser foot.
Students will also review where their controls are for stitch type, stitch width and length, if applicable.
Students must come with a working sewing machine wih a manual. A manual can be downloaded for most machines from the internet. Please do so before class.
Students will make a pillowcase for the first session. Optional pillowcase kits will be available at class for a nominal cost. An apron will be made for the second session. Students will be told what type and how much fabric to buy for the second class.

prewashed and ironed, 100% cotton woven fabric, 3 coordinating colors - 7/8 yard for pillowcase body, 1/2 yard for pillowcase cuff and 1/8 yard for accent strip
100% cotton fabrics hould be 42-45 inches wide.
