It is 1928…also known as the Roaring 20’s. A time well known for dangerous bootlegging and notorious gangsters. Welcome to “Ruby’s Place,” a popular speakeasy. Tonight is a memorial service for Vito “The Gut” Marzetti, who was gunned down last week in a gangland slaying. As a dear friend of Vito’s, you have been invited to pay your honorable respects to the family: JOEY “The Lump” Marzetti, the youngest son (a bootlegger, and he ain’t overly bright), RUBY “Fingers” Marzetti, Joey’s sister and a manger of the speakeasy (an ex-showgirl, she is street-wise and smart), FRANKIE “Marbles” Marzetti, the eldest of the three (he rarely shows glimpses of his own personality, preferring to hide out in various alter egos), LENA Marzetti, the grieving young widow (despite the difference in their ages, and the fact that Vito tipped the scales at 300 pounds, they seemed happy enough): If you wish, please be prepared to give a short eulogy for poor Vito. Slow Food Sonoma County North School Garden Project:100% of each raffle ticket sale will go to The School Garden Project. You do not have to attend the Dinner in order to participate. The auction will go Live via Facebook and Instagram and entrees will be able to claim their prizes as the tickets are being drawn. You will receive an email with all details after purchase, including ticket numbers. Slow Food Sonoma County North has relationships with 7 elementary schools and after-school programs in northern Sonoma County. The goal is for each school to create and maintain a garden with student participation. The convivium provides support and resources such as volunteers, Ark of Taste plants and seeds, tools, and access to farmers to teach students about seasonal crops, planting, caring for, and harvesting vegetables.
