A family are looking for a dedicated, full time head housekeeper. To be based in Palm Beach for most of the year, but travel for a few weeks to The Hamptons over the summer. The family is looking for someone to “own the house”, train staff, manage the housekeeping throughout the property, all laundry, organizing, and helping oversee vendors where needed. Location: Palm Beach, 33480 Salary: $30-40 per hour Day to Day • Ensuring all aspects of the property, interiors as well as exteriors, are maintained, cleaned, tidied and organized. • Tidying all rooms to ensure items are neatly stored • Managing laundry, hand washing, ironing and dry cleaning – all clothes, linens, towels etc. and organizing the wardrobes, • Looking after the plants and flowers throughout the property and pet care as needed • Arranging professional cleaning of furnishings as needed • Working with the other members of the team as required • Ordering supplies, toiletries, and helping the chef with groceries if required • Recording and filing receipts efficiently • Serving meals, some light cooking, assisting the chef Contractors and Vendors • Greeting couriers and tradesmen at the door and overseeing and arranging appointments when necessary; ensuring the house is in good working order. • Sorting mail and opening packages, organizing returns, putting away deliveries • Ensuring all guests are always excellently looked after • Answering the telephone and taking messages • Preparing for family travel, assisting with packing and unpacking luggage Previous experience • Similar experience with a private family Candidates Must: • Show longevity in previous roles • Be smart and organized • Be happy to trial • Be happy to travel for work – The Hamptons over summer (for a few weeks) • Be happy to sign an NDA/ confidentiality • Not be allergic to dogs • Love children Successful Candidates will: • Have excellent communication • Be career focused/ dedicated • Flexible/ adaptable • Discrete • Friendly and approachable but professional • Be a good leader • Be able to train other staff
