On Saturday September 11th, Open Spaces in partnership with Move N Groove Kidz presents The Karate Kid, the original movie from 1984. Synopsis: A martial arts master agrees to teach karate to a bullied teenager. 5:00 to 7:00 - Capoeira Chattanooga will be presenting its 3rd annual roda. A roda (circle of capoeiristas) includes 2 people showing the moves of capoiera and also the people playing the traditional instruments of capoeira while singing. 7:00 - Pre movie activities 8:00 - Movie starts at sunset. Run-time is 2h 6m. Popcorn from Choo Choo Kettle Corn Snow Balls from SnoLaLa Hotdogs from Pops Dogs Inclement Weather Policy: City of Chattanooga Special Events reserves the right to cancel the screening of the movie due to inclement weather prior to or during the movie. It is at the discretion of the City to decide when the event will be called off and this decision can only be made on the day of the scheduled event. If the weather looks threatening (imminent rain, rain, looming thunder clouds, dangerous winds capable of damaging equipment), the City reserves the right to protect its own equipment by cancelling the presentation of the film. There is no indoor back-up venue or rain date. If a movie is cancelled it may or may not be rescheduled for next year’s Sunset Cinema Series. In the event of cancellation, City of Chattanooga Special Events will announce the cancellation on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and via Eventbrite.
