BRAINTREE, MA — One Braintree School Committee candidate joined the race, while another has withdrawn, according to Town Clerk Jim Casey. Argyro Armstrong will run for the committee and join five other candidates in the race: former school committee member Lisa Fiske-Heger, Tuffy, Treacy Lewald, Stephanie Burrell and Thomas Thackeray. Caitlin Bradley is no longer running. "When I entered the race, it was out of concern that there weren't enough candidates to fill the vacant seats for a committee that advocates for our kids and schools," Bradley said. "There now are several good, qualified candidates. To avoid diluting votes, I am withdrawing from the race." As of Friday, 27 candidates told Casey they intend to run in the town election on Nov. 2. Among those candidates are two former town councilors vying to get a seat again: Thomas Bowes in District 3 and John Mullaney in District 2. The school committee term is for four years, and town council seats are for two years.
