Press release from Belmont Public Schools: 9/3/2021 Dear BPS Families and Staff, As we approach Labor Day weekend we wanted to provide you an update on two important health mitigation strategies that support a safe opening of school. The Belmont Public Schools applied for and received approval from the state for Routine COVID Safety Checks (formerly referred to as Routine COVID Pooled Testing) and Test and Stay (close contact testing).  We are partnering with Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) for these testing programs. Please also know that on September 2 the Belmont School Committee and the Belmont Educators Association (BEA) tentatively agreed to mandate vaccines for staff. The next step is for this agreement to be voted on and ratified by the School Committee and members of the BEA. A health bulletin from our nursing staff with more information on pool testing, test and stay, testing consent forms, etc., with links to the new symptom checker will be sent to you early next week.
