Press release from the City of Hammond: September 3, 2021 Department: Hammond Marina - Lost Marsh Golf Course Job Title: Landscape and Groundskeeper Date Requested: September 1, 2021 Date needed: ASAP Salary: $15.00 per hour - full time Job Requirements Job Responsibilities and Duties High school education Ability to take direction and do a variety of different tasks Ability to use basic landscaping and grounds tools including hand or riding lawnmower, trimmer, edger, shovel, etc. Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to work individually or with a team of co-workers Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties. Mow grass either by hand or using a riding lawn mower. Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower. Trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls. Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes. Care for grounds by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch Trimming and edging around flower beds. Walks and walls Mix, spray and/or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs using gardening tools Apply mulch for protection using gardening tools Maintaining the conservatory plants and flowers Other duties as assigned by Golf Course Administrator or Port Authority Director Hiring will be done in accordance with Hammond City Ordinance #8620 as it pertains to the residency requirement. Position will be posted internally only from September 3, 2021 thru September 13, 2021. If the position is not filled internally, it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than ten days.
