Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: Sacramento resident, Vyvianna Quinonez, has been charged with two felonies for allegedly punching a flight attendant on a Southwest Airlines flight from Sacramento to San Diego on May 23. Witnesses say that the Quinonez was asked by the flight attendant, who has not been identified, to raise her tray table and buckle her seatbelt for landing, as well as putting her mask on correctly. Quinonez refused. The discussion escalated and Quinonez was filmed standing up from her seat and punching the flight attendant. One passenger who was sitting two rows away said that the flight attendant began to yell at the woman, provoking the incident. Other passengers disagreed saying that the attack was unprovoked. Quinonez will make her first court appearance Sept. 17 in San Diego. (FOX40)The Sacramento Fire Department and arson investigators were responding to a call on the 2200 block of 11th Avenue north of Sacramento City College when the body of an adult woman was discovered, according to a statement from police. They have opened a homicide investigation into the incident. The woman's identity will not be released until the next of kin has been notified. At this time, there is no suspect information, but Sacramento Police urge anyone with information to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers can remain anonymous and possibly have the chance to win a reward of up to $1,000. (ABC10) The Galt police officer who was severely injured in a crash that killed her partner as they were on their way to assist with the Caldor Fire, has been released from the hospital. Officer Kapri Herrera has been in the ICU for nearly two weeks after her patrol car was hit head-on along Highway 99 north of Galt. Her partner, Officer Harminder Grewal died last week in the hospital as a result of his injuries from the accident. His funeral is scheduled for September 13. (CBS Sacramento)An arrest has been made in an August 29 shooting in Sacramento that left a teen dead and a woman injured. The shooting happened on Jefferson Boulevard near F Street. Police have identified the suspect as Gilbert Villalobos. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of homicide. Police believe Villalobos knew his victims. Detectives are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call them at 916-808-5471. (FOX40)High school football is in full swing with Week 3 bringing some spectacular action.
