Press release from the City of Wilkes-Barre: September 3, 2021 - 1:44pm There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collections, on Labor Day, Monday, September 6th. Paper & Cardboard Recycling, Garbage and Yard Waste Collection Resumes for Downtown & South W-B 1 on Tuesday, September 7th. City Hall will be closed on Labor Day.  Regular DPW Hours of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM will return on Tuesday, September 7th. Yard Waste pickup was delayed for residents with a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collection this week, due to DPW crews responding to the extreme weather event on September 1st. Residents are asked to leave out their yard waste and are thanked for their patience and understanding. This press release was produced by the City of Wilkes-Barre.
