Tumwater Middle School, located in Cedar Mills, is named after the Kalapuya word for 'waterfall' in reference to the nearby Cedar Mill Creek Waterfall. Hillsboro's Atfalati Ridge Elementary in North Plains is named after the northernmost tribe of the Kalapuya people. Both schools are set to welcome kids next week. The runner appealed the decision, but CAS concluded that her story — which involved an order mix-up, an unlikely restaurant supply chain error and an uncastrated boar — was just too far-fetched.
