PHOENIX, AZ — More than 100 businesses in the Phoenix metro area are among the fastest-growing private companies in the United States, according to a new list released by Inc.com. The annual list highlights 5,000 of the country's fastest-growing companies, which are ranked by overall revenue growth over a three-year period. The top 500 are then featured in the September issue of Inc. Magazine. Honorees must apply to be selected. In total, this year's honorees brought in $248 billion in revenue and added more than 2.5 million jobs to the U.S. economy. The fastest-growing company in the Phoenix area is Brander Group, according to this year's list. Located in Scottsdale, Brander Group is an IT management firm that deals in brokerage of IP addresses. In all, the company grew more than 27,096 percent in the past year, ranking it the sixth-fastest growing business in the nation, according to Inc.com. Overall, the company recorded a year-over-year growth of 48,345 percent. Companies that have made the list in the past include Pandora, 7-Eleven, Toys R Us, Zipcar and Zappos.com
