Full Job Description We are Breeze Mobile Screens, a small family owned and operated mobile screening company based out North County San Diego. We install and repair window and door screens, including: security doors, retractable screen doors, sliding and swinging screen doors, and window screens. We are looking for an apprentice installer (field technician) who enjoys interacting with homeowners, enjoys working outdoors, who is self motivated enough to work mostly independently after training. This person will be driving our mobile workstation to customers homes and doing screen door and screen window installation. This is light construction work. A great opportunity to work mostly on your own, driving around to customers homes, working outside, earning a good income without having any screen installation experience (all training will be provided). Bonuses and profit sharing available after 6 months! Mandatory Requirements: Ability to fix things, handyman type skills, critical thinking to figure out how to install screen doors in different openings Must be comfortable using a 10" aluminum cutting chop saw. Knowledge of how to read a tape measure, adding and subtracting measurements within an 1/8" Must maintain a polite, kind, patient and professional demeanor with all customers. Must have valid California Driver's License Experience driving a box truck or a pickup truck towing a trailer is a plus Job Duties: Drive our mobile workstation to customers homes in central San Diego and North County San Diego. As mobile installer, candidate must be comfortable meeting and talking with home owners to discuss their installation needs. Use tape measure to measure customers window screens and sliding screen doors. Work curbside at customer's home in our mobile workstation to fabricate new window screens and sliding screen doors. Use 10" chop saw to cut aluminum materials, then assemble these into new window screens and sliding screen doors. Then install into the customers home. Install swinging screen doors, retractable screen doors, and security screen doors. Must be comfortable carrying an over the shoulder tool bag, waist tool pouch, and step ladder around the customers home. Must be comfortable doing hands on work, kneeling, and standing on step ladder while using small power tools (impact driver, drill, cut off tool). Write up Invoices and collect customer payment Work Hours/Benefits: Installer hours can be negotiated. Typically we work Monday through Friday between 8am – 4pm. Weekend hours also available if desired. Contract pay (hourly average) increases after the training period, and is negotiated based on contract requirements. Hourly average is typically around $20 or more, but increases with job size and complexity. Bonuses paid for additional jobs booked directly by technicians (from neighbors at the job sites or other sources). As an independent contractor there are no benefits included and no taxes will be withheld. Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on skill and work pace COVID-19 considerations: Masks provided on request of technicians. Masks required as customers request. Vaccination is strongly encouraged. Masks are mandatory for unvaccinated technicians.
