Assistant Dog Trainer/Assistant Manager We are looking for an assistant dog trainer/assistant manager (P/T with potential for P/T). The perfect candidate will be available weekdays, weekends & holidays. The right candidate will have a very positive attitude and train/treat dogs with positive reinforcement. The position has a great potential for growth when we expand soon and will offer puppy classes, one on one training and group obedience training. Requirements: -Completion of a professional training program (please specify which one(s) you have completed in your cover letter) -Previous experience teaching various dog training techniques in group or private setting -Knowledge of canine behavior and body language -Knowledge of safe animal handling -Experience in supervisory or management role -Proficiency in teaching basic obedience commands -Experience tackling common canine behavior problems (jumping, barking, nipping, mouthing, humping, marking, etc) -Minimum of 1 year hands-on training experience on a professional level -Reliable transportation and communication -Ability to lift and move objects and animals weighing up to 50 lbs and ability to humanely restrain animals when necessary Responsibilities: -Handling and training dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments -Coaching, encouraging and motivating dogs, staff and parents -Communication skills with dogs, staff and parents are crucial -Assist Manager & Owner in all areas -Using industry protocols to maintain control over training groups and play groups to ensure each dog's safety -Cleaning duties such as: sanitizing work areas, cleaning up dog waste, etc. Please send a cover letter and your resume to apply for this position.
