I have 3 male rats, a full white one, and two brown and white ones. They’re dumbo eared rats named Elijah, Jasper, and Lucius. Elijah is my baby, he’s really friendly and loves to be held/run up and down your arms. He’s never nipped before when given treats or reaching your hand out to him. Jasper and Lucius are less friendly unfortunately. Jasper was always really skittish since I got him as a baby (as were all the others from the litter). I wouldn’t say he’s aggressive at all and especially not towards the other rats, but when you hand him treats he WILL get them. Lucius isn’t as aggressive with getting handed treats, but he has bit me once before when my thumb was close to him through the bars of the cage while petting Elijah. Jasper has nipped at me while I’ve tried cleaning the cage. There are ways to help train them not to do these things, but it gets into the problem of why I’m posting this in the first place. I’ve had them all for around a year and I’ve never wanted to part with them, but at this point I know it’s what’s best for them. I’m very allergic to them which I didn’t know beforehand and thought I could handle since I’m also allergic to cats, but have had them my whole life. I break out painfully and itchy up my arms that will last the whole day and my partner is too afraid of them to clean their cage (as efficiently as I’d like)and give them the attention they need. If you’re interested in any of them I’d like to ask you some questions like your past experiences with owning rats because I really don’t want them to go to a beginner or for someone’s kids. I’d like them to go together, but if you can prove to me you have another rat at least 2 at home to take one or one at home to take two. However I’d like to hold them until I have a home ready for all of them so they don’t become depressed/lonely alone. (They’re pack animals that’s why I want 3 together and I could tell they weren’t happy just 2). I have rehoming fees for them, but I’m happy to discuss that after we’ve spoken. I have a pop up little play pen I’ll give at whoever asks first for 10$ I have a bunch of wooden toys and a medium wood hideout as well It really breaks my heart because I love them so much, but I have to give them a better life.
