San Francisco Night Ministry's phone line known as the "Care Line" provides non-judgmental, compassionate listening on any topic, crisis counseling, and spiritual care every day from 8pm to 4am PST. Care Line Counselors come from many faith traditions and spiritual backgrounds and help people make meaning for themselves in line with their own understanding of reality. We are currently accepting applications for the role of Care Line Operational Intern! This is a new fully remote position which will directly support the Care Line Counselors on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This includes updating the calendar, sending daily reminders, supporting any urgent needs, and at times being a lead on the Care Line. The time requirement of this position will vary week to week, but a maximum of 12 hours, or 4 hours a day, can be expected. Often it will be much less. The intern will need to be able to commit to one year of service after the start date. This position would be an excellent opportunity for a recently graduated High School or new college student looking to gain experience in operational management, non-profit administration, leadership, counseling, spiritual care, and mental health. You will receive extensive training. This position is unpaid but may be completed for school credit depending on the requirements. Applications must be received by 10/15/21 to be considered.
