Social Worker/ Child Counselor

Is there a social worker willing to talk a child? I really do not want to adopt although I am financially stable but I will. The child needs a social worker, the abuse etc. says going on. The child tell me but I dont really know what to do, so i just listen. I dont like to hear these things. I dont want them to be put in position of continuously going back to that house hold and making things worse because they told, but something needs to be done. I dont want to just keep saying doing the best you can until 18. The child may need ways to cope in the situation but no child should go through abuse.
