The Truck driver plays a key role in the success of every Bednark project. The driver’s primary responsibility is to perform pickups and delivery of goods needed for the project process or to the location for the install. The drivers also participate in the safe and efficient loading/unloading of trucks. Please note, this is a PART-TIME position. Overnight availability a plus! It is the Driver’s responsibility to always be on time, and knowledgeable of loads. They embody Bednark’s core values when on the road, interacting with vendors and clients. The Driver strives to always maintain a high level of professionalism, dedication, awareness, and reliability. Below is a more detailed description of this role: 1. Pickups & Deliveries Coordinates with the Dispatcher for the pickups and/or deliveries of material, supplies, and finished goods. Performs pickups and deliveries with the following: Project name, PO and elements involved Project details: Delivery address, Estimated time of Arrivals and Point of Contact information at Delivery Accuracy of load (Cross-referencing Packlists, BOL’s, etc) to ensure alignment between target manifest and actual Prepares the vehicle with the necessary tools/supplies in order to complete the pickups safely and in a timely manner. Determines the safest and optimal driving routes throughout the process. Inspects items/materials prior to load/unload for quality assurance The truck is returned to its Ready-To-Go state: Supplies taken for the pickup are returned to stock Personal belongings are removed Garbage is disposed of Truck log completed 2. Loading & Unloading Participate in the preparation of elements being transported The Q/C of elements (cleaning, wrapping, labeling, etc.) Pulling Packlists Restocking & Organization Department Cleaning/Maintenance Tasks as assigned by Logistics Manager Collaborates with the Logistics team members in loading and unloading vehicles Provides guidance to assure a safe and efficient loading/unloading process Cross-references Packlists and Bill of Ladings to ensure alignment between target manifest and actual load 3. Truck Operations & Safety Operates trucks and vehicles at a high level of professionalism, reliability, punctuality and awareness Follows all of Bednark’s driving policies including state laws Embodies Bednark’s core values when on the road, interacting with vendors and clients. Informs Dispatcher and Logistics Manager of any vehicle safety concerns Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment in all workspaces Maintains a safe, healthy, and judgment-free working environment Job Qualifications: Must have valid Driver’s License At least 21 years of age Clean Driving Record Previous Pickup & Delivery Experience Must be able to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty. Previous warehouse & forklift experience in a fast-paced, LTL environment preferred Must be dependable Safety Oriented Strong verbal communication skills
