Description

Lacey Joggernauts 5K fun run & walk supporting 4 The Fallen, a military support organization providing services to our wounded veterans. Come show your support to all our Veterans by participating in the Veterans Day weekend 5K fun run & walk on Saturday November 6, 2021 hosted by the Lacey Joggernauts and Thrive Community Fitness Center. Proceeds from this event go to support the nonprofit organization 4 The Fallen. This is a non-chipped (not timed) event and is self-paced. Show your patriotism by bringing a USA Flag to carry as you run, jog or walk along the 5K route. We allow dogs on leashes and kids in strollers. This event is open to all age and abilities, so it doesn't matter if you are fast or slow, young or old, this event is for you. Your financial support goes to support the Lacey Joggernauts (a Washington State non-profit) and 4 the Fallen, a 100% volunteer, direct impact, non-profit organization in support of our countries heroes. Given a 501(c) (3) designation by the IRS in September 2015, the 4 The Fallen organization's goal is to create funds necessary to operate critical programs and services. The High Impact Prosthetic, Certified Service Dogs, and Adaptive Sports programs were established to ensure that America's heroes receive services and access at no cost to them. 4 the Fallen is committed to growing these programs which directly impact the lives of injured American heroes who volunteered to serve our great nation. SERVICE DOG PROGRAM Depending on the source, 20-22 veterans commit suicide per day. Many of these veterans would have benefited from alternative medicine such as certified service dogs. 4 The Fallen is dedicated to providing service trained canines to heroes suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The goal of the Service Dog Program is to empower our heroes to return to an independent and high quality lifestyle. In partnership with the Patriot Service Dog Foundation and Canine Kinship, 4 The Fallen assists our heroes with PTSD in receiving trained and certified service dogs at no cost to the heroes. PROSTHETIC PROGRAM The goal of the Advanced Prosthetic Program is to help our heroes who require high impact prosthetic devices. 4 The Fallen ensures there is no financial burden placed on the heroes and ensures they receive a high impact prosthesis at no cost to them. This program ensures our heroes live a more productive and active lifestyle. Amputees are usually provided with prosthetic devices that are very limited in functionality. These devices are not designed for active lifestyles which is where 4 The Fallen steps in and ensures that the heroes receive them. ADAPTIVE SPORTS 4 The Fallen provides America's Heroes with opportunities to compete in competitive and exhibition athletic competitions. These heroes get to showcase their athletic abilities by participating in baseball, cross-fit, golfing, running, and softball events. Several of these heroes have starred as members of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball and Football teams, have earned Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the Warrior Games sponsored by the Department of Defense as well as the Invictus Games created by Prince Harry. These heroes live the motto life without limbs is limitless.
