Anthony Trionfo, flute Albert Cano Smit, piano “A musician of prodigious talent and scintillating personality.” – Oberon’s Grove (New York) Flutist Anthony Trionfo was recently praised as a “breezily virtuosic flutist” by the New York Times after his New York concerto debut with a performance of the Ibert Flute Concerto with the Orchestra of Saint Luke’s under the baton of Teddy Abrahms in May 2019. Mr. Trionfo won First Prize at the 2016 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. In 2018, he debuted in the YCA Series at New York’s Merkin Concert Hall and Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, premiering a new work by YCA Composer-in-Residence Katherine Balch. Anthony Trionfo is pursuing his master’s degree under the tutelage of James Walker at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where he has been a Teaching Fellow. He graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy, having studied with Nancy Stagnitta, and has performed in masterclasses with Emmanuel Pahud, and YCA alumnae Mimi Stillman and Paula Robison. In addition to more formal performances Mr. Trionfo is committed to community outreach, teaching through the Jumpstart program in Los Angeles. “He established himself as an artist to watch.” – Montreal Gazette Spanish/Dutch pianist Albert Cano Smit is already becoming an audience favorite for his performances as soloist with orchestra and in recitals around the world. Mr. Cano Smit won First Prize at the 2019 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and will make his New York debut at Merkin Concert Hall and his Washington, DC debut at the Kennedy Center. Mr. Cano Smit is currently pursuing his Artist Diploma with Robert McDonald at The Juilliard School. Previous teachers include Ory Shihor, Graham Caskie and Marta Karbownicka. He has benefited from extensive artistic advice by YCA alumni Richard Goode and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, with whom he gave four-hand performances at Zipper Hall in Los Angeles and Wallis Annenberg Center Hall in Beverly Hills. Mr. Cano Smit is an alumnus of the Colburn School and the Verbier Festival Academy.
