Learn more about the rocks on Mutton Hill during a walking tour around the property with Professor Joseph Hannibal.
During an easy walk around Mutton Hill, we will hear about—and get a view of—the rock that underlies the hill, the stone used for the Perkins Stone Mansion, and the stone used for other historic items on this site. We will also explore the connection between the rock, the overlying soil, and the sheep.
Geologist Joe Hannibal teaches paleontology at the University of Akron and is the author of Guide to the Building Stones and Cultural Geology of Akron.
