Practice advanced skills such as reflective listening and coaching people on taking responsibility. Exact Location: CASE Building Rooms E230 and E340 Advanced Skills Practice for Mediators and Restorative Conversations Trainees. Participants will practice advanced skills for restorative practices such as: Reflective ListeningListening for NeedsCoaching People in Taking ResponsibilityIncludes manual for independent skills practice. Training from the Longmont Restorative Justice Partnership. Facilitated by Jessica Goldberg. Jessica Goldberg has been the Volunteer and Training Coordinator for LCJP since 2015. She brings her zeal for welcoming people to the field of Restorative Justice through community outreach, volunteer recruitment, and training. From introductory to advanced skills, Jessica trains people through all levels of Community Restorative Justice and Mediation. Jessica has a M.A. in Conflict Transformation from SIT Graduate Institute (2010). In collaboration with her Peace Institute colleagues, Jessica co-authored the article, “Making space for contending moral talk in criminal matters: Criminal Court mediation in Brooklyn, New York” in Mediation Theory and Practice(2018). This event will be held on the CU Campus, so face masks are required for all participants regardless of vaccination status.
