Dinner & Dancing in the ICC tent to celebrate the end of summer and to welcome in autumn! Join us for a scrumptous dinner in the ICC tent followed by dancing with local Irish DJ Eamonn Grealish. A farm to table styled menu - our chef has sourced local produce from a farm in Hanson and will serve a wholesome harvest style dinner. Menu: Soup & Salad, Turkey Dinner, home made breads, Kerrygold cheese board, dessert, tea & coffee. (vegetarian pasta dish available). An evening of jiving, waltzing and rock n'roll will follow with our DJ playing tunes from your favorite Irish artists. Fee: $25 for members/ $30 for non-members AUTUMNAL EQUINOX Called the Lá Leathach in Irish it means the Equal Halves Day, when night and day are of equal duration, as also happens around St.Patrick's Day usually March 21st or so, at the Vernal Equinox. The Lá Leathach an Fómhair, the Autumn Equinox, happens in the middle of the Fall. The Irish months for fall are called Meán Fómhair (middle Fall or September) and Deireadh Fómhair (end of Fall or October) and the Equinox usually happens around (September 21st) The cornucopia is its symbol as all the harvest is collected and the food for the winter is hoped to be plentiful. The corn of plenty is a gyre or vortex that spirals from a singular point in nothingness outwards into the full flesh bounty of life's harvest.
