Inventory control overview This position can expect to work closely with management to develop and improve existing procedures and policies, prevent losses, maintain inventory storage, ensure the accuracy of inventory records, compile inventory reports, do weekly counts of all products, create and maintain vendor relationships, and source products and materials. Areas of Focus • Be aware of every activity that relates to inventory control in the office or warehouse environment: RFQs, Ordering, Receiving, Stocking, Slippage • Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored • See to proper inventory management to ensure business demands are met in the most efficient manner possible • Work directly with management to monitor stock inflow and outflow • Compile inventory information and present it to management • Provide accurate information on inventory to fabricators • Investigate hitches in the warehouse inventory system and recommend to management necessary improvements towards better business performance, which centers on stopping loss/waste & customer satisfaction Specific Tasks • Send and follow up on Vendor RFQs • Review and complete written work instructions for cuts • Operate vertical/horizontal band saws • Interpret basic blueprints and drawings to provide cut material for fabrication • Accurately use basic measuring devices, including tape measure, caliper, and micrometer • Observe proper safety procedures in a machine shop environment. • Help customers choosing material for jobs • Review balance of inventory and count the items in stock • Receive shipments and ensure that all items are accounted for and stored in the proper areas • Clean and organize inventory and inventory storage areas and maintain organization currently in place • Other duties as may be required Mandatory Requirements 1. Good Attendance and punctuality 2. Possess a valid CA Driver’s License 3. Ability to work in a loud environment with grinding, welding, drilling, hammering, and pounding 4.
