Memory Care Community Hosts Petting Zoo
Residents of a Tinley Park memory care community want to boost your mood with the help of some furry friends. Porter Place will host a petting zoo from 1-3 p.m., on Grandparent’s Day, Sept. 12 at 17833 Harlem Ave., Tinley Park.
“Research shows that interaction with animals can make us healthier and happier,” said Meredith Morris, Porter Place community relations director. “Animal visitors increase social engagement all the way around. They can help our residents connect not just with the animals but with their grandchildren, other family members and caregivers.”
The outdoor event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Meredith Morris at 708-781-1050 or email [email protected].
Porter Place is operated by Anthem Memory Care.
