Female, DALMATIAN / CATTLE DOG, AUSTRALIAN (BLUE HEELER), 12 Years 5 Months
Sitter needed: 09/22/21 - 09/26/21
Star was returned to APA! recently when her adopter was in a hospital and was going to a rehabilitation center, so was unable to continue her care. She came in depressed and hardly wanted to stand up or even leave her kennel. But now she's opening up to her human friends, leaning in for their petting with her tiny tail wagging.
She's a quiet, resilient girl whose health is also improving. She is beginning to lose weight and is on medication for thyroid issues and on pain medication for a wounded back leg. She's up for her leash walking. Being stubborn, she thinks she should decide the route, but once she's on the move, she's a good walker. She also understands "sit" and knows that making eye contact will get her a treat.
This loyal girl hopes to move to a low-traffic, adult-only new home where she can be the only dog. And she'll need a parent who can continue meeting her medical needs. Come meet this beautiful girl. She's got lots of love to give and just wants some in return!
Star was taken off of the euthanasia list, so if you adopt her, you are saving not only her
but also the next dog Austin Pets Alive! can save in her place!
