WANTED: We are looking for a Small Engine Mechanic with a conscientious work ethic, self-discipline, a strong sense of integrity, and a positive attitude to add to our dynamic culture. The Small Engine Mechanic must be familiar with all aspects of company small engine equipment appropriate to the landscape industry, 1 ton and smaller trucks, brakes, oil changes, routine maintenance, some welding is a plus, to include running an established preventative maintenance (PM) program, making repairs as needed, scheduling all items for PM, training crews on use and PM of small engine equipment, etc. 2 Cycle Engine experience required, Walker Mower experience a plus. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a general or Small Engine Mechanic. Have a high school diploma or GED. Hold appropriate certifications for a Small Engine Mechanic’s position. Possess a valid driver’s license, clean MVR, and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. Proficient in both oral and written communications. Proficient in inventory management/control of repair parts. Able to create an atmosphere of cooperation and professionalism with all office and field personnel. Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner. Skills and Responsibilities: • Conducts scheduled PM for all small engine equipment. • Conducts repairs for all small engine equipment, as directed. • Repairs vehicles and equipment according to manufacturer specifications • Monitors fleet maintenance schedule and schedules oil changes, needed service, & tire replacements. • Tracks all repairs for specific equipment with work orders for all costs: labor, materials, subcontracted costs, etc. • Runs the company scheduled PM program for all small engine equipment as follows: • Schedules maintenance & blade sharpening. • Manufacturer’s recalls. • Scheduled and spot inspections. • Maintenance of manuals for all small engine equipment. • Maintenance of safety manuals for all small engine equipment. • Inventory lists for all small engine equipment to cover such things as: Safety manual, Daily PM procedures for all drivers and operators, Key maintenance, Spare tire(s), jacks, tow straps, etc. • Ordering most cost-effective parts for repairs. • Filling out and processing all work orders and required paperwork. Maintain daily logs in a legitimate, timely and organized fashion. Complete all paperwork and turn in as required daily (time sheets, ETC.) • • Doing repairs, inspecting/testing the same, and filling out appropriate paperwork. • Is organized in all areas (personal office space, field, company yard space, job sites, etc.). • Leads by example. • Eager to learn. • Presents himself or herself in a professional manner. Steady and consistent. Creative, pro-active with problem solving skills. • Initiates action when needed. • Is self-motivated, requires little supervision. • Excellent planning, organizing, and leadership/supervisory skills; ability to focus/ prioritize repairs for needed equipment. • Strive to maintain zero repeat/rework repairs. • Clean equipment and vehicles in the process of making repairs. • Self-Starter, punctual, and dependable • Strong customer, quality, and results oriented. • Responsible for maintaining upkeep of all types of company equipment. • Experience driving trucks and trailers and operating landscape equipment. • Work outside in AZ conditions. • Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly to communicate with customers, managers, and employees. • Other duties as assigned • Completes all tasks within time expectations
