Description
PEARL RIVER, NY — Orange & Rockland estimates that it will complete storm repairs and power restoration Friday for the remaining customers whose electric service was knocked out by the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida.
That's 85 of 20,000 customers who lost power in New York and New Jersey during the deluge. SEE: Ida In the Hudson Valley: Town-by-Town Rainfall Totals
As is typical in the final stages of a large storm power restoration effort, O&R crews are encountering remaining isolated pockets of severe damage to the electric system, officials said. Those complex, labor-intensive damage sites are more like rebuilding projects than repair jobs. These locations are generally addressed in the later stages of recovery to expedite overall electric system restoration.
If you are one of the affected O&R customers who are still without power, please consult O&R's Outage Map for your individual estimated service restoration time. If you have no electricity but do not see your outage listed for restoration on the Outage Map, please report your outage to O&R.
