Mass Doctors Identified As Victims In Connecticut Plane Crash

BOSTON — A Boston couple were two of the four victims in a small plane crash in Connecticut Thursday. Farmington police identified the couple as Courtney Haviland, 33, and her husband, William Shrauner, 32. The pilots identified in the crash were William O'Leary, 55, of Bristol, Connecticut, and Mark Marrow, 57, of Danbury, Connecticut. No one else was on board the small business jet. Farmington police said the plane took off a little before 10 a.m. from the Robertson Airport before crashing into the building at Trimpf Inc., a manufacturing company. Farmington Police Lt. Tim McKenzie believed the crash was caused by some form of mechanical failure during takeoff but added that there is a human element that will be added into the investigation. There were about 300 people inside the industrial building at the time of the crash and only two employees inside were injured, but not seriously, investigators said. The plane, a Cessna Citation 560X, was headed to Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, North Carolina, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Dr. Courtney Haviland practiced General Pediatrics out of North Shore Medical Center-Salem, a member of Mass General Brigham. Dr. William Shrauner was a cardiology fellow at Boston Medical Center.
