TYSONS, VA — Fairfax County Police have arrested and charged a man in a July sexual assault at a Tysons hotel. On July 21, police responded to a report of a sexual assault in the 8600 block of Westwood Center Drive, Vienna. The woman reported an unknown man entered her hotel room, showed a knife and sexually assaulted her. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Major Crimes Bureau's Victim Services Division was assigned to provide assistance and resources to the victim. Patrick Michael Chaloupka, 38, of Woodbridge, was arrested Thursday at his home. He was charged with rape and abduction with intent to defile and is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond. The arrest comes after detectives received a positive match earlier in the week from a latent print from the crime scene. Detective believe the man may be responsible for similar crimes in the area. "The meticulous work from our Cyber and Forensics Division detectives can be the difference in these significant cases," said Major Crimes Bureau chief Ed O'Carroll in a statement. "Their phenomenal efforts often go unseen in the headlines but always prove to be pivotal in the courtroom. In this case, it brought a dangerous offender into custody." O'Carroll also thanked detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad, the Prince William County Police Department, examiners at the Northern Virginia Regional Information System, and a forensic artist specialist from Loudoun County Sheriff's Office who made a sketch of the suspect. Anyone who may have had contact with the suspect can provide information to the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 3 or submit a tip through Crime Solvers.
