WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Green Team is collecting used bookbags, reusable lunch bags, and new or gently used school supplies to donate to the Elizabeth Coalition for the Homeless on Sept. 6 (Labor Day) and 7, in order to help homeless students.
Green Team member Jessica Weitzman said Sunday that items can be dropped off any time during those days, but only on those two days. They can be dropped off in the bins by the front entrances of Westfield High School and Roosevelt Middle School.
The group requested that the bags are clean and in good condition.
The Westfield schools reopen for students on Thursday. Sept. 9. See the Westfield school calendar and major holidays here.
