Greenwich Among CT Towns In Coronavirus 'Red Zone'

GREENWICH, CT — With the contagious delta variant of the COVID-19 virus continuing to spread, Greenwich is one of a number of communities in Connecticut that has been in the "red zone" for high infection rates. Greenwich reported 17.6 cases per 100,000 during the most recent survey period, according to the CT Department of Public Health (see interactive map below). Greenwich officials reported earlier this week that the number of cases seemed to be trending downwards, but the town is preparing for a spike as summer winds down and children return to school. On the vaccination front, the CT Department of Public Health reports that 65.49 percent of the entire Greenwich population is fully vaccinated. About 71 percent have had their first dose (see interactive map below).
