ARLINGTON, VA — Labor Day often translates to the unofficial end of summer. Many students have already gone back to school, but there's some time for last-minute summer fun during the three-day holiday weekend. Various events will be happening Labor Day weekend in the DC region, including the Arlington Labor Day Weekend Festival of the Arts. Some services in and around Arlington are closed or modified for the federal holiday on Monday, Sept. 6. Below are the changes to know. All Arlington County government offices, libraries, and facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6 Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court are closed on Monday, Sept. 6 Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste and Special Collections: Normal schedule for Sept. 6.; Customer Contact Center is closed, Sept. 6; No mulch deliver on Sept. 6; Household Hazards/Electronics Drop-off Facility is regular Saturday drop-off on Sept. 6. Earth Products Drop-Off Yard is closed Sept. 6 Metered Parking will not be enforced on Monday. DMV & DMV Select: All DMV offices are closed on Monday. Visit DMV's Online Services to access many available. Human Services: Closed (Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365) Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: Administrative offices and centers are closed on Monday; Classes/leagues and parks and outdoor amenities will be open Monday. Online permitting is available. System is available for customer use and application submissions. Public Schools: Closed. Sheriff's Office: Administrative Offices closed Monday, Sept. 6. Swimming Pools: For openings, see pool schedule. Treasurer's Office: Closed Monday, Sept. 6, but CAPP available for online payments. Transportation ART – ART will operate holiday bus service on Monday, Sept. 6. ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55 and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate. The ART Customer Call Center will be closed. STAR – The STAR Call Center will be closed Sept. 6 and standing order rides, except for dialysis, will be canceled. Please call before the holiday to request a trip for Sept. 6 or Sept. 7. Metro: Metrorail, Metrobus and MetroAccess will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 6.
