PENNSYLVANIA — If you're looking to find the state's best institution of higher education, look no further than the University of Pennsylvania. That's according to Pittsburgh-based data analysis company Niche, which has released its 2022 rankings of the nation's best colleges. Penn also ranked ninth nationally in the Niche rankings. The top 10: 1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology 2. Harvard University 3. Stanford University 4. Yale University 5. Princeton University 6. Duke University 7. Rice University 8. Brown University 9. University of Pennsylvania 10. Dartmouth University To compile the rankings, Niche combined data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education with reviews and ratings from current students, alumni, and parents in an analysis of factors such as academics, campus, value for the financial investment and other aspects of the collegiate experience. Here are Niche's top 20 Pennsylvania colleges and universities: 1. University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia 2. Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh 3. Haverford College, Delaware County 4. Swathmore College, Delaware County 5. Villanova University, Philadelphia 6. Lehigh University, Northampton County 7. Layfayette College, Northampton County 8. Bucknell University, Union County 9.
