I-90 Lane Restrictions, Closures Could Impact Lakewood Drivers

LAKEWOOD, OH — Labor Day weekend took a long time to arrive, though Ohioans planning holiday weekend trips may need a bit more patience. The Ohio Department of Transportation has plans to continue roadwork on all of the Buckeye State's major highways. For Cleveland's west side residents, we've compiled a list of the projects most likely to impact you this weekend. Here's some of the roadwork that could impact your holiday weekend: I-90 bridge repairs in Rocky River and Lakewood There will be nightly lane restrictions through October as crews repair the bridge. U.S. Route 6 (Detroit-Superior) bridge Crews are doing bridge repairs between W. 9th St. and W. 25th St. Work will close Merwin Avenue between Center St. and West St. bridge. Work should be completed on this project in October. I-90 bridge rehabilitation in Cleveland Crews will rehabilitate and paint bridges on I-90 between E. 136th and E. 156th, E. 140th and E. 152nd on I-90 in Cleveland. Work should be finished in July 2022. As part of that work, the E. 140th ramp to I-90 east will be closed through late September. Drivers will detour along S. Waterlood Road to I-90 east. E. 152nd and E. 140th Street, under I-90, and connector roads between the streets, will have off-peak lane closures and restrictions. I-90 interchange improvements The Ohio Department of Transportation is improving traffic flow on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, at the I-90 interchange. The area will have various daily lane restrictions. Grayton Rd. over I-480 bridge deck replacement Bridge deck replacement on the Grayton Rd. bridge over I-480 in Cleveland. Work should be finished in mid-October 2021. Paint the I-480 bridge over the Rocky River and SR 10 SR 10 east and west will have various lane restrictions through at least November. Work should be finished on this project in June 2022.
