The tap water has pale yellow color, how to fix it?

I rent in a ranch several miles west of Ford Dodge IA 50501. The tap water always has pale yellow color. I heat the tap water to boiling, and find lots of small yellow particles at the bottom. These small yellow particles look like sands. The ranch manager says it is the pump problem, not a big dealer. Is this tap water safe to drink or cook? How to fix it? Thank you very much!
