Silvergate Rancho Bernardo is actively seeking HOUSEKEEPERS to work at San Diego’s premier retirement community located in Rancho Bernardo. $500 SIGN ON BONUS (TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY) JOB SUMMARY This position provides clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the residents, employees and guest. The housekeeper will promote sanitary conditions that aid in preventing the spread of infection and odors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide weekly and daily housekeeping services to resident individual apartments per individual service plan, and daily cleaning services to common areas as assigned • Operates various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, brooms, mops, etc. • Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing • Requires working in damp, dusty and dirty areas. Must clean up human waste and other bodily fluids as required, following all applicable handling procedures set forth by the community and/or OSAH, EPA, State health Department, Department of Social Services, etc. • Daily housekeeping tasks may include: dusting, trash removal, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, etc. • Keep all cleaning equipment clean and in good working order • Ensure proper OSHA labeling of all cleaning chemicals • Must always speak English when in the presence of a Resident (Per Title 22 Regulations) • Provide excellent customer service at all times • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families and co-workers • May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and staffing • Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Must be 18 years of age • 6 months of relevant experience preferred • Must be able to speak English and follow verbal instructions in English • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays. • Must enjoy working with senior citizens • Self-started who works well in a fast-paced environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires the ability to bend, squat, stoop, climb, kneel, and stand on feet for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
