Abigail Gardens, a residential gardening business in Charlottesville, is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking addition to our team. Horticultural experience and knowledge of ornamental plants is not required, but applicants with this will be given preference. You will need a strong sense of teamwork, a good sense of humor, the ability to bend over for hours at a time, no issues with outdoor plumbing, and the patience and willingness to make plants, containers, and garden beds look lovely. We like to fuss with flowers, and you should too!
We work Monday-Friday, 6-7 hours a day. If you are interested in working with our happy crew, please send an email explaining why and resume or list of work experience. If you love to garden, this could be the perfect job for you. Please know that this is a very physical job that requires fitness and fortitude. We carry, dig, bend and heave all day long. But we get to be outside!
Requirements for crew members:
1. Excellent listening and communication skills
2. Professional horticulture experience OR an excellent knowledge of ornamental plants and gardening techniques OR some combination of these and a desire to learn
3. Excellent work ethic
4. Reliable transportation
