Aerial Lineman RESPONSIBILITIES Safely install, repair, maintain or remove transmission lines both aerial and underground. Climb poles to Install, remove, maintain, and repair aerial fiber cable distribution and communication systems Underground cable placement abilities Perform underground cable placement and associated tasks of fiber cable Knowledge of operating telecommunication equipment Able to understand sub structure operations for the placement of fiber cable Complete daily job documentation, including site safety and traffic compliance Able to perform work in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara areas Aerial Lineman REQUIREMENTS Class A a plus, but not required. 1-3 years of related experience in both aerial and underground line experience in Telephone and/or Cable TV 1-year experience with the use of telecommunication construction linemen vehicles and equipment Class C with good driving record OSHA Regulation knowledge Dig Alert 4216 rules and regulations is a plus Ability to climb poles Good communication skills Ability to travel when required Attention to detail Bilingual Spanish a plus Horizontal Drill Bore Operator RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operates drill equipment on jobsite which may include, but not limited to the following: Horizontal Directional Drill, Backhoe, Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Hauling Equipment), Water Truck, Vacuum Truck. Safely operate the horizontal directional drill includes operation of the drill and use of locating systems with minimal disruption to existing infrastructure. Knowledge of calibrations, traffic control devices, and the ability to transport and set-up as needed. Follow all policies and procedures in accordance with city, state, federal, client, and companies’ requirements. Locate all utilities within the bore path and expose prior to drilling. Understanding of directional boring principals, mixing systems, and mud use of vac truck and trailer rigs. Able to develop and maintain a bore schedule as needed. Load and unload tools, equipment, and material from tractor trailer. Responsible for site set up and clean-up, also restore and/or landscape areas of the jobsite. Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs regularly or heavier daily. Climb up and down ladders, machinery, equipment, and other large objects. Horizontal Drill Bore Operator/Locator REQUIREMENTS Valid Class A Driver with Clean Record Familiar with Ditch Witch Directional Drills 3 – 5 Years Directional Drilling Experience Construction Experience or Underground Utility Experience Must be very safety conscious.
