Passionate drummer, bassist, and guitarist hoping to join up with an organ/keys player interested in neo-classic soul. We're just getting this ball rolling but we hope to find a collaborator interested in the music of luminaries like Booker T and the Mg's, Sharon Jones, Wilson Pickett, Stevie Wonder, and Charles Bradley among others. We practice weekends in Beaverton, are vaccinated, and wear masks and take precautions for covid. We love everybody but can only play with other vaccinated folks at this time. We're just doing covers at the moment and trying to gel. If you have any interest in Stax/Motown/SOUL, please get in touch! But what if my Hammond can't fit in my Honda? No problem, we'll figure a keyboard out. What if I like this kind of music but usually play piano? No problem, the best thing about soul music on an organ is that it's a lot of percussive chords in the right hand. If you can play a few inverted seventh chords then you're already qualified. Plus we'll definitely need electric piano on a few things. What if I'm awesome and toured with the Temps in '93? Should I pick these guys or one of the other "need keys" ads? Pick us. We're the best one. We're in our forties, have families, and aren't doing this to make money. Also, if you know any awesome singers or horn players, show them this ad! They're going to want to know about us. Possibly to avoid us.
