This is Memphis. He’s a black lab mix who is just about a year old. We got him not to long ago from a friend and were sure he would be the perfect match, but unfortunately that is not the case. He’s very fearful of anyone he perceives as a stranger and displays reactive behaviors that are causing issues. He is not outwardly aggressive and I don’t believe he would ever intentionally go after anyone, but the training he needs to become less reactive is not something I have the know how, or honestly the time commitment, for. I know that with proper time and training he has the potential to be the perfect boy. He’s a wonderful dog who is very smart and eager to please and would make the perfect companion for someone who is active and able to take him along for the ride. He’s a bit of a velcro dog and wants to be with you at all times. He does amazingly with dogs and has no issues with cats, other than wanting to be right up in their faces, or thinking they’re playing chase if they run. He picked up on house training within a matter of days and does well in a crate at night. It is painful to know that although so much of him is great and wonderful, there is a deeper need that we cannot fulfill. He will need a yard to run and play in and would make a great friend for another dog. If you’re interested in this guy, please reach out.
