The likelihood of you seeing is probably far lower than I could calculate, but I need to thank you for your company Saturday night. It’s been a long time since someone has randomly pulled up a chair and held my attention for as long as you did- and with such kindness. “My conversation with you is far more interesting than with the people I came with.” It’s not worth getting into, but it meant more to me than I can express in this missive. At the end of the night, when you wished me a good life, my heart broke a little as I wanted to keep talking and keep the hope alive that our paths would cross again.
Thank you, Fr, for reminding me what organic chemistry feels like. I truly hope that wander into my bar again and have each others’ undivided attention again someday.
