Description
Join us for a free morning bird walk led by a board member of the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens! Migratory birds will slowly make their way south as the cooler weather sets in. The Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens are a popular resting stop along their annual migration route. Are there particular migratory birds you enjoy viewing? Grab a pair of binoculars and join us at the park to bird-watch and learn about a few of these feathery friends. **Masks are optional but recommended for all participating. We will monitor COVID-19 safety guidelines for Washington, DC and the National Park Service and adjust accordingly.** What you’ll be doing: Enjoy a guided morning bird walk with Dana Fronczak, a board member of the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. When: Sunday, September 26, 2021 8:00am. Please arrive promptly so we can begin on time. Where: Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens at 1550 Anacostia Ave, NE, Washington, DC 20019. Meet along the entrance trail in front of the porta potty. Getting there: There is a large, free parking lot at the park entrance and abundant street parking surrounding the park. By Metro, the park entrance is a mile from Deanwood and 1.3 miles from Minnesota Ave, both on the Orange Line. By bike or on foot, access the park via the Anacostia River Trail.
