Homestead Sawmill is a small, family run, custom sawmill that supplies niche lumber products to Central and Western Oregon. We're very busy and looking to add a team member to help with all aspects of the day-to-day operations. We offer a laid-back work environment and flexible scheduling, however most work hours will be evenings/weekends. This position would be ideal for someone looking to earn some extra money on the side. Job Duties Include: *General Clean-up of Work Area *Stacking Lumber *Measuring and Accurately Cutting Logs to Length for the Sawmill *Assisting Customers with Loading of Finished Product *Learning to Operate Sawmill to Saw Accurate, Quality Lumber *Split Firewood Using a Hydraulic Firewood Splitter Tools and Equipment Used: *Chainsaws - Small & Large *Measuring Tape *Front End Loader/Skid Steer *Circular Saw *Chop Saw *Twin Blade Board Edger *Portable Bandsaw Mill *Hydraulic Firewood Splitter Physical Requirements: *Work Outside in a Variety of Weather Conditions *Ability to Stand for Long Periods of Time on Hard (dirt) Ground *Lift, at most, up to 50 Pounds at a Frequency of Once per Approximately 8 minutes *Lift and move/stack up to 20 Pounds at a Frequency of Once per Approximately 2 minutes What We Need From You: *A Pleasant Attitude and Good Work Ethic *Willingness to Perform the Task at Hand *Open to Learning New Skills We Will Happily Train the Right Candidate for this Position, However Experience with Chainsaws & Equipment is Preferred.
