Participate in a walking tour of the Battle of Dam No. 1 site in Newport News Park. Participate in a walking tour led by Newport News Historic Sites' historian J. Michael Moore of a portion of the Battle of Dam No. 1 site in Newport News Park. Learn about the events leading up to the April 16, 1862 battle in this scenic setting. This tour is appropriate for those over the age of 12 and will involve moderate walking. In case of inclement weather, the tour will be re-scheduled and/or refunds will be issued. Participants will be advised of any COVID-19 protocols before the tour. Please note Event-Brite service charge fees will not be refunded. Lee Hall Mansion is a historic house museum operated by the City of Newport News Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
