Description

Come join us for a tailgate party and volunteer learning stations at Camp Belzer to kickoff the 2022 Friends of Scouting campaign! VALUED VOLUNTEERS make Scouting happen in every community! Our kids enjoy camp, meetings and outings and learn plenty of valuable skills while making lasting friends and memories. Parents, family members, community partners, friends and alumni lead fundraising efforts through the Friends of Scouting annual campaign and Scouting is made possible through their leadership and support. We're hosting a tailgate party to celebrate our VALUED VOLUNTEERS and FRIENDS and kick off the 2022 Friends of Scouting (FOS) annual campaign leading up to the 26th Annual Governor's Luncheon for Scouting, Thursday, December 16 at Lucas Oil Stadium!! Music, beverages (water, soft drinks), food, and plenty of activities for the whole family begin at 10 a.m. and the Pep Rally (brief program) will take place at 11 a.m. Join us for all your favorite tailgate games as well as learn about the various volunteer roles for this year's campaign. This is a first--what do I do? Glad to hear you are attending! First, complete the reservation so we know you're coming (no cost). Plan on getting to Camp Belzer just before 10 a.m. to give you enough time to park and participate in all the activities and volunteer learning stations. Tailgate parties go by quickly and you won't want to miss anything! Grab some snacks, soft drinks and visit all the stations. I've never helped with the FOS campaign, but am interested in volunteering. Should I attend? Absolutely! New volunteers help out in a variety of capacities every year. Everyone brings a skillset we can utilize to make this year's campaign a success. Can I bring my kids? Of course! Even if it's not summertime, visiting camp is always a great experience! Plus, as a family-centered organization, everyone is welcome to attend, play games, dance to music and have fun! Should I bring food or drink? You're welcome to bring snacks and soft drinks, and plenty will be on hand for you and your family. I like tailgate parties! Can my troop help out? Lending a helping hand for parties and events is always welcome. Just email [email protected] and we'll get you all set. Should I wear my uniform? What if it rains? While uniforms are always appropriate at camp, they are not required. Comfortable shoes and clothes are most important for being at camp (and tailgates)! Umbrellas and ponchos work well for rain! But wait, I have more questions... can I bring friends? Of course! Bring your friends, other unit leaders, Scouting alumni and community friends not yet involved in Scouting--everyone is welcome. Please take a moment to let us know you are planning to attend so we can make sure we have enough hot dogs and snacks! Send emails to [email protected] or call 317-813-7128 if you want more information.
