Description

Join the world’s largest volunteer effort for our ocean and waterways by taking part in our International Coastal Cleanup at Riverside Park! The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) engages people to remove trash from our our oceans and waterways. Over 16 million ICC volunteers have collected more than 340 million pounds of trash. We are honored to take part in this effort and hope you will join us in making our coasts cleaner and healthier! Community volunteer events take place rain or shine. Volunteer projects are dependent on the season and the needs of the park. Closed toe work shoes required. Do not bring additional bags, as there is really no place to store belongings. For more event info or to register, please call (212) 870-3073 or email [email protected]. Sign up to cleanup! Directions: Take the #1 to 145th St. and walk north for three blocks until you hit 148th St. Walk west on 148th until you hit Riverside Drive. Cross the street and go down the staircase. Walk over the bridge and go down the staircase to the right. Continue through the underpass and take the path to the left between the baseball field and basketball courts. We will be waiting under the Riverside Park Conservancy tent! (see map below) Driving Directions: From southbound Henry Hudson Parkway, take Exit 13 to W 158th St. Instead of turning right to go north toward W 158th St, turn left and the parking lots will be on your right.
