Jive BagJive Bag is a five-piece band that plays New Orleans-influenced funk and contemporary jazz. The instrumentation is the same as Papa Grows funk: drums, bass, rhythm guitar, Hammond organ, and saxophone.

Jive Bag has opened for the famous New Orleans pianist Marcia Ball, played at the Betty Jayne Brimmer Center in Peoria Heights, Jazz UpFront in Bloomington and several venues in Champaign Urbana.
The all-star lineup of the band includes Jonny Beckett - tenor saxophone and founder, Peter Roubal - guitar, Kurt Reeder - organ and keyboards, Josh Walden - electric bass, and Adiare “Petey” Thomas - drums.
