Hiring Experienced Excavator Operators | W.C. Spratt, Inc. Experienced lead excavator operator for a pipe crew with minimum of five (5) years similar work experience for work within an hour of Fredericksburg, VA. Successful candidate skills needed: Attention to detail, dig and operate by hand signals, read and understand stakes, knowledge of rigging, basic equipment knowledge, ability to carry a grade, ability to read blueprints and cut sheets, ability to lift up to 30 lbs., ability to load trucks, knowledge of clearing, ability to clean tracks, knowledge of equipment, knowledge of cutting edge/teeth, ability to find equipment fluid locations, knowledge of load capacity safe operating range, knowledge of sloping/trenching, ability to dig inside a trench box, sit a trench box/steel plates, knowledge of safe rigging procedures, ability to follow verbal and hand signal directions, ability to pull grade and work around overhead and underground utilities safely. Personal Qualities required include: Team player, dependable, ability to work under pressure, ability to follow direction, self-motivated and ready to work off the machine when needed.
