Description

Under general supervision, lays various types of pipe to place water lines, sanitary or storm sewers, and drains. Installs pipe laser and slope per plans and specifications. Selects type and size of pipe and related material according to job specifications. Connects pipe pieces and seals joints. Cuts pipes to required length. Locates existing pipes needing repair or replacement. Pot hole existing utilities to prevent damage. Taps and drills holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary line or devices. Secures pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers. Inspects, examines, and tests installed systems and pipe lines using pressure hydrostatic testing, observation, or other testing methods. Plans pipe, installation, or repair according to specifications. Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions. Fluent in English, attention to detail, ability to direct Track Hoe Operators, ability to set up pipe laser, ability to read blueprints, ability to grade a ditch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to direct a crew, valid driver’s license.
